Clearwater International advises Antagonist on its sale to one.com

Clearwater International has advised web hosting services provider, Antagonist, on its acquisition by leading European hosting provider, one.com.

Based in Enschede, the Netherlands, Antagonist provides a comprehensive set of web hosting services that are of high quality, reliable, and cost-effective. The company combines the flexibility and technical advantages of a managed VPS, with the simplicity and low cost of shared web hosting. This makes Antagonist faster, safer, and more reliable than most of its competitors.

One.com, backed by Cinven and based in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a leading hosting provider in Europe, with around 1.5m customers in 149 countries. With the transaction, one.com acquired a leading supplier of managed web hosting and domain name registration services in the Netherlands.

This acquisition follows the general consolidation trend in the hosting market, and the ambition of one.com to further grow and strengthen its market position in Northern Europe, which follows previous acquisitions of Hostnet and SYSE.
