Meuwissen was sold to Walki Group (Finland)
Walki Group Oy has acquired its Dutch, family-owned competitor Meuwissen. The acquisition of Meuwissen is an important step in Walki’s European expansion plan. Walki will benefit from Meuwissen’s entrepreneurship and strong European client network, while Walki’s state-of-the-art technical knowledge will contribute to the product development and production process of Meuwissen.
Meuwissen is an independent, family-owned company, founded in 1954 and located in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Meuwissen produces extrusion coated flexible multi layer products for the building & construction and industrial packaging markets. Meuwissen’s products add value to their customers business by protecting their products and buildings against their environment, resulting in a reduction of the total cost of ownership. In 2010, Meuwissen employed approximately 50 people and realised a net revenue of EUR 21 million.
Walki Group is a leading producer of technical laminates and protective packaging materials, specialising in the production of fibre based, intelligent, multi laminate products for markets as diverse as energy saving construction facings to barrier packaging applications. Walki Group has operations in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Poland, the UK, Russia and China with a workforce of approximately 1,000 people. Annual net sales for the Group amount to EUR 300 million. Walki Group is owned by Nordic private equity investor CapMan and Walki’s management.
